I was reading somewhere on EI about competition, and if we're out to compete against others, and at what cost, and etc.

To that, I have to say that YES we are all competing against each other, whether we realize it or not.

If we weren't, why wouldn't any of us care to get anything materialistic like clothing? Why aren't we all the first to buy that cheap ass Hyundai (like the one I gots), and why aren't we all throwing away our credit cards instead of racking up debt in the thousands??

I think, it's because we want it right now. We want to create the rich and high profile lifestyle for ourselves.

Only, we're not willing to wait. We want it now!

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- A 19-year-old college student has been arrested in connection with a triple stabbing at his home, an incident that left his father clinging to life at an area hospital, Las Vegas police said.

The violence erupted about 8:33 a.m. Tuesday at 1200 Linn Lane, near the intersection of Nellis Boulevard and Washington Avenue, police said. Authorities said the suspect, a student at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, had argued with his parents over bad grades.

Police responded to the scene and arrested the young man, whom they identified as Nathan Baria. He faces three counts of attempted murder and could face a murder charge if his gravely injured father dies at the hospital. The student's mother and sister were also stabbed, police said, but were expected to survive their injuries.

Girly I know got her state scholarship back. She was in tears to find out her GPA was just enough to make it.

And good thing too because she was working so hard stressing out about how to pay for school, and not having enough money.

In high school many moons ago, the plan was to marry your high school sweetheart, have kids and live on Guam forever and maybe leave the island to retire some place else like Las Vegas or maybe even California. Well, that wasn't my plan.

I remember a lot of people saying "Oh I'm going to UOG for two years and then I'm going to transfer to another school off-island." That was my plan right there. Didn't happen as planned.

It didn't happen as planned to marry my high school sweetheart or even date an FD boy. Well, I didn't exactly date him, if you consider one month's worth of time spent together "dating".

Looking back, I don't know what the plan was.

I guess all things would have been fine and dandy to just marry your FD boyfriend, have kids and work in Gov Guam for the rest of your life, attend political rallies and walk Marine Drive every July 21st.

So glad I didn't exactly stick to plan afterall.
