./The Next Great Amercian Band
Dot Dot Dot

In case you haven't heard, there's a show on FOX called The Next Great American band and there's a band called DOT DOT DOT vying for the title. Their guitarist/vocalist is Rose Laguana from Guam.
Check them out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpGNp3oYXDU or go to http://www.dotdotdotonline.com/
http://nextgreatband.msn.com/ngb/bands/dotdotdot
The whole band isn't from Guam but they deserve some support anyway. Personally, I think they've got good stage presence.

Guam's Own "56 Hope" to Release Debut Album on Guam
The Long-Awaited "Good Fortunes" CD will be available at local stores on October 1;
features hits "Rock Me," "Bubbles" and "One Fire"
SAN DIEGO (October 1, 2007) – For almost a year, Guam radio listeners and Myspace members have been treated –and teased- by the smooth and sultry tunes of the San Diego-based Guam band, 56 Hope. Now, fans of the band's music will soon have the opportunity to hear their songs anytime without having to wait until their songs appear next on radio station's playlists. "Good Fortunes," 56 Hope's debut CD will be available in Guam's stores on October 1.
"We are extremely excited about the release of our album and equally excited about the buzz and the excitement coming from our supporters back home," stated Ricky Borja, the band's keyboard player and the producer and their debut effort.
According to Borja, the album contains all original songs with some "special offerings" throughout the CD. "We are proud to say that all of the material you hear on the album comes from our collective heart, mind and soul. Eric (Sajo), our lead singer wrote all the lyrics and we all contributed musically. The first 10 tracks are enough to keep our listeners rocking, swaying and feeling the 56 vibe, but we suggest you don't stop there," Borja playfully stated.
Brian Cruz, lead guitarist, explained the origin of the band's name and the name of the album. "Because of our reggae roots, we wanted to pay homage to the master of this great musical genre, Mr. Bob Marley, and 56 Hope is where he resided. The members of 56 are just four island boys who miss home and love playing music. We like to think of ourselves as more of a bond then a band. 56 Hope is bigger than the four of us. It is a collaboration of ideas and the music that comes from our synergy is a jewel that's in our souls. 'Good Fortunes' is a manifestation of our efforts, our pain and our joy. It is the perfect name for what we want to be known for –positive energy and a great vibe."
Bassist Francis Ogo said that the band plans on returning to Guam to perform in concert during the spring or summer of 2008. "The release of our album is awesome, but what I'm looking forward to is performing for Guam –and chowing some kadon pika."
According to Borja, the first album is definitely not the last. "When you find guys like this that your click with musically and enjoy being around, you just have to keep it going. That's our plan; keep playing together and writing songs that people want to hear and hopefully inspire up and coming musicians to play, write and share their talents through music. That's what it's all about."
You can find 56 Hopes Debut Album at the following locations:
Disc Location - Haven Music Locations - Chode - Circle K and 76 Stations - JB Ukele
We are still working on CD Sales online. Stay tuned for more informaiton.

I know I've been making a big deal about these guys, but I have good reasons.
1. Eric (vocals) is my cousin.
2. These guys are from Guam.
3. I love their stuff.
If you haven't already, give them a chance and listen to them on their Myspace. Then, if you like them as much as I do, support by buying a cd.. or two.. or more. Then. Spread the word.
